How It Works
GivingSomeThing is an online platform helping donors to send real goods to their favorite nonprofits. There are three steps to the process:
- Create a Needs List: Nonprofits create a Needs List on GivingSomeThing with the exact goods that they need. We use Amazon technology on the back-end of our site, so most everything available on Amazon can be added to a Needs List.
- Supporters Give: Donors browse Needs Lists, add goods to their Give Basket, and checkout with a credit card.
- Goods Ship: The donor receives a receipt for tax-deduction purposes and Amazon ships the goods directly to the nonprofit's address.
All of this is done with no costs to the nonprofit and no fees for the donor. The donor only pays for the cost of the good and standard shipping charges (sometimes, shipping is even free!).
